Quick Start Guide: Grandstream WP825 Wireless Phone
This guide will help you effectively use the Grandstream WP825 wireless phone.
Understanding the Buttons
- Soft Keys: Dynamic buttons below the screen for context-specific actions.
- BLF Keys (Busy Lamp Field): Appear on-screen when configured, showing the status of other extensions or features.
- Green: Idle.
- Red: In use.
- Voicemail Button: Access your personal voicemail.
- Call/End Buttons: Manage calls (green to answer/place calls, red to end them).
Making and Managing Calls
1. Attended Transfer (Warm Transfer)
Transfer a call after speaking to the recipient:
- During an active call, press the Transfer soft key.
- Dial the recipient’s number or select them from the phonebook or call history.
- Wait for the recipient to answer.
- Press the Transfer button again to complete the transfer.
2. Unattended Transfer (Blind Transfer)
Transfer a call directly without speaking to the recipient:
- During an active call, press the Transfer soft key.
- Dial the recipient’s number.
- Immediately press Transfer to complete the transfer.
3. Call Parking
Place a call in a shared location (park) for another person to pick up:
- During an active call, press the Park BLF key (if configured).
- The call will be parked, and the corresponding BLF key will light up.
- To retrieve the parked call, press the lit Park BLF key.
Checking Voicemail
1. Personal Voicemail
- Press the Voicemail button.
- Follow the voice prompts to listen to, save, or delete messages.
2. Group Voicemail
- If a BLF indicator on the screen shows a flashing message icon for shared voicemail, select it.
- Follow the prompts to access group voicemail.
Difference:
- Personal Voicemail: Messages for your specific extension.
- Group Voicemail: Shared messages for a team or department.
Using Call Flow Options
Switching Modes (Day/Night or Forwarding Calls)
- If a Call Flow BLF option is configured, press it to toggle between modes.
- Day Mode: Calls follow the normal flow to the main office or receptionist.
- Night Mode/Forwarding: Calls redirect to a mobile phone or voicemail.
Handling Multiple Calls
Switching Between Calls (Hold)
- During an active call, press the Hold button.
- Use the navigation keys to select another call or line.
Switching Between Calls (Park)
- During an active call, press a Park BLF key to park the call.
- Answer another incoming call or place a new one.
Additional Common Features
Conference Calls
- During an active call, press the Conference soft key.
- Dial another number or select a contact.
- Once the call connects, press Conference again to join all participants.
Do Not Disturb (DND)
- Press the DND soft key to silence incoming calls.
- To deactivate, press DND again.
Wi-Fi Roaming
- The WP825 supports seamless roaming across multiple Wi-Fi access points, making it ideal for large spaces like warehouses or bars/restaurants.
